Set in Nottingham, written by Frances Poletti, and co-produced by one of the actors, Vicky McClure, the four-part psychological thriller Without Sin has made its presence felt on M-Net channel 101.
Following McClure as Stella Tomlinson, a divorced nighttime taxi driver grieving the murder of her fourteen-year-old daughter Maisy (played by Justine Emma Moore), Without Sin is a series to die for.
One big mystery
Viewers will question whether the convicted suspect, Charles (played by Johnny Harris), is indeed the culprit, and if so, what was his motive, who else was involved, and what is each person's level of involvement.
Twists and turns
The story takes several turns and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Charles asks to meet Stella as part of the restorative justice scheme. However, he uses the meeting to convince her that he didn't kill Maisy, even though the evidence says otherwise. If Charles didn't do it, then who did and why?
Mind-blowing performances
McClure's performance as a grieving mother is believable, and one gets to go through the emotions with her. Johnny Harris excels as the violent and unsettling apparent murderer, Charles Stone. It is worth noting that Without Sin is not the only drama Harris, McClure, and Perry Fitzpatrick (who plays Maisy's father) have appeared in together. The trio worked in This Is England '86, hence their chemistry.
If you are into drama and mystery, this series is for you. Will you be adding Without Sin to your watchlist?
