Koester jy nie net hoop nie, maar ook ’n groot droom vir jou dorp? Met kykNET se splinternuwe program Lottoland help ’n dorp kan dit eersdaags veel meer as net ’n droom vir jou gemeenskap word.
In dié nuwe reeks gaan die Lottoland-span dorpe dwarsoor die land besoek en mense ontmoet wat ’n plan én ’n droom het om hul gemeenskap te verbeter.
Wie weet, dalk is jou gemeenskap een van dié wat ’n kans op so ’n droomprojek gaan kry danksy Lottoland, wat hul vlerke nog weier sprei om meer opbouende bydraes tot ons mooi Suid-Afrika te ondersteun.
Lottoland het al reeds hul staal getoon met die kykNET-goedvoelprogram Dankie, Lottoland, waardeur miljoene rande aan instansies of mense in nood geskenk is. Boonop is Lottoland vanjaar die hoofborg van kykNET se gewilde Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar-kompetisie waar die wendorp R1 miljoen kontant van dié organisasie sal ontvang.
Die tipe projekte wat aan Lottoland help ’n dorp voorgelê kan word:
- Gemeenskapsentrum
- Biblioteek
- Sportgeriewe
- Opleidingsentrum
- Hulp aan ’n bestaande sentrum of organisasie wat die dorp se inwoners dien, soos ’n plaaslike skool, dierewelsyn-organisasie of ouetehuis
- Gemeenskapstuin
- Herwinningsprojekte
- Opknapping van historiese gebou of toeristebesienswaardigheid
- Hernubare energieprojekte, soos byvoorbeeld sonkrag
Reëls:
- Slegs Suid-Afrikaanse dorpe kan inskryf.
- Elke dorp moet benoem word deur ’n komitee van inwoners wat die dorp en die droomprojek verteenwoordig.
- Die droomprojek(te) moet volhoubaar wees en die dorp moet in geheel daarby baat vind.
- Droomprojek(te) moet binne vier weke ná goedkeuring uitgevoer en voltooi word.
- Die voorgestelde projek mag nie die maksimum begroting van R500 000 oorskry nie.
- Komiteelede moet self vooraf die nodige toestemming bekom indien die projek bedryf gaan word op munisipale grond of op eiendom wat deur ’n derde party besit word.
Die vervaardigers en Lottoland sal 13 dorpe uit die kwalifiserende inskrywings kies. Oorweging sal geskenk word aan die projekvoorstel se volhoubaarheid, gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid en uitvoerbaarheid.

New TV series bring hope to South African towns – and your town can be a part thereof!
Are you harbouring hope and a wonderful dream for your town? With kykNET’s fresh new television show called Lottoland Help ’n Dorp, it can soon become more than just a dream for your community.
In this new series, the Lottoland team will criss-cross the country meeting people who plan to improve their communities.
Who knows? Your community may be one of those to selected for a dream project thanks to Lottoland spreading its wings even wider to make further uplifting contributions to our beautiful South Africa possible.
Lottoland has already proved its commitment with the kykNET feel-good programme Dankie, Lottoland through which benifited many institutions and people in need with millions of rands donated through the programme.
Lottoland will also be the main sponsor of kykNET’s popular Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar competition, where the winning town will receive a cool R1 million in cash from the organisation.
The kind of projects that can be submitted to Lottoland Help ’n Dorp:
- Community centre
- Library
- Sporting facilities
- Training centre
- Support to existing centres or organisations already serving the local community, such as a local school, animal welfare or old age home
- Community garden
- Recycling projects
- Restoration of a historical building or tourist attraction
- Renewable energy projects, for instance, solar energy
Rules:
- The competition is limited to South African towns only.
- Each town must be nominated by a committee of residents representing the residents of the town and the dream project.
- The dream project(s) must be sustainable and entire the town must benefit from the project(s).
- Dream projects must be completed within four weeks after approval.
- The proposed project may not exceed the maximum budget allocation of R500 000.
- Committee members must obtain all the necessary permissions for a project if it will be established on municipal land or property owned by a third party.
The producers and Lottoland will select 13 towns from the qualifying entries. Sustainability, community involvement and feasibility will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
