Zee Cinema, Mrs India, South Africa, 2016

Two times the celebrations.

It was a twofold celebration of note as Zee Cinema Mrs India South Africa 2016 Priya Boshoff was crowned in the 10th anniversary of the beauty competition and Zee Cinema celebrated its fifth year of being on the continent. Neha Malik was crowned first princess and Roshmi Rajdhar was crowned second princess.

Bollywood glamour truly came to the fore in Africa, as this was the first year that Zee Cinema came on board as a title sponsor. No Bollywood movie channel in Africa has vested in a local pageant of this kind before.

The glittering pageant held at the Durban Playhouse on Saturday 19 November lived up to its promise of bringing glitz, glamour and colour with the 10 radiant ZEE Cinema Mrs India SA 2016 finalists taking to the stage. In a special segment to highlight their milestone, past winners of the pageant were showcased.

The Zee Cinema Mrs India South Africa pageant is not just the usual beauty pageant. The pageant creates a platform for married, divorced and widowed Indian women in South Africa to showcase their inner and outer beauty and give back to the community through various initiatives and social causes.

Harish Goyal CEO of Zee TV Africa said: “Being a part of Zee Cinema Mrs India South Africa has been an empowering move. The focus in this pageant is so much more than beauty, it’s about having ambassadors who will inspire and motivate fellow women to aspire to reach their dreams. We wish Priya Boshoff well in the next phase of her journey as Zee Cinema Mrs India South Africa 2016 and believe that she embodies best the values of the pageant.”

The Zee Cinema team, which is currently available for viewers on Zee World (166), would like to show our gratitude to the organizer of Mrs India South Africa Pageant, Anusha Bisaal, for graciously orchestrating this event.
