International series this week

9-1-1 S1 (Brand New) on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and streaming on DStv Now on Monday, 23 July

Prolific producers, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the delightfully deviant creators of American Horror Story are back at it with '9-1-1', a new drama that follows the complicated lives of first responders on the job and in their equally stressful personal lives.

Starring Murphy muse, Connie Briton (Friday Night LIghts & American Horror Story), who made a dramatic departure from Nashville, alongside Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) and Peter Krause. Billed as an Angela Bassett vehicle, who is also Executive Producer, the series enjoyed a straight to series order and has been renewed for a second season.

The Good Fight S2 (New Season) on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and streaming on DStv Now on Monday, 23 July

Season 2 of The Good Fight was confirmed after only 8 episodes of the first season had flighted and, as good as the first season was, the second season is spectacular, as everything seems to 'click'. The show is no longer a spin-off but a show that stands on it's own two feet and has already been renewed for a third season!

This season flights under the banner, "Kill all the lawyers" (William Shakespeare), as a lawyer in another firm is murdered by a client for over charging and another is killed by a copycat, causing Lockhart and her colleagues to look critically at their own clients.

Diane wages spectacular battle with a new partner at the firm, Liz Reddick-Lawrence, played by Audra McDonald who played the same character in The Good Wife. Look out for a scene where Diane Lockhart walks through the offices barefoot, sticking her head into Lawrence's office to let her know exactly how she feels.

Hawaii 5-O S8 (New Season) on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and streaming on DStv Now on Tuesday, 24 July

Season 7 saw the departure of Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, this season two new faces join the unit and see the promotion of a familiar character, who despite his best efforts to stay on the straight and narrow, goes rogue once again.

Snowfall S2 (Express from the US) on 1 Magic (DStv 103) and streaming live on DStv Now on Thursday, 26 July

Snowfall was Greenlit for a second season after only 5 episodes of the first season. Season 2 enters 1984, still following the storyline of the infancy of crack-cocaine and its growth to being the an insidious urban epidemic is has become. Money, power and influence were the opiates of the 80s decade, and Franklin must juggle his hunger for these dangerous ambitions with his obligation to protect those he loves.

Riding the wave of the euthanasia debate this film delicately explores the right of someone to decide when to stop living and the effect that it has on families and loved ones. (Nominee for Best Feature at the Anchorage International Film Festival and winner of Best Narrative Feature at the Eugene International Film Festival.

KC Undercover S3 (New Season) on Disney Channel (DStv 303) and streaming live on DStv Now from Saturday, 21 July and available on Showmax 

Zendaya tweeted, 'Tonight is the last episode of KC, and therefore my last episode on Disney channel....,' on the night of the KC Undercover finale flighting, confirming that she was leaving not only KC Undercover but also Disney Channel. She then tweeted a picture of her with the Disney Channel logo, writing: 'The end of an era. On to the next. Thank you for continuing to grow with me.' Zendaya returned to the mouse network for KC Undercover after her departure from Shake it Up as a producer on KC Undercover because she wanted to bring young girls a powerful female protagonist who was also a person of colour.

This new era is, of course the era in which she is playing MJ in Spider-man Homecoming and Spider-man: Far from Home. The debate as to whether MJ is Mary Jane or a unique character in the new rendition of Spider-man rages on. In the meantime, enjoy the fantastic last season of the very popular and funny KC Undercover.

The Voice Kids is the junior version of The Voice UK, with the age limit being 7 – 14 years old. There are 4 stages: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Semi-Finals and the Live Final. The coaches will.i.am, Danny Jones and Pixie Lott search to uncover the best junior talent Britain has to offer. The 2018 series, will be broadcast within a couple of weeks of UK transmission.

Impossible is the quiz with the third dimension: as well as right answers and wrong answers there are also Impossible answers - they are not just wrong, they couldn't possibly be right. A cast of 30 returning players compete for the chance to win £10 000. Every right answer takes them a step closer to a shot at that jackpot - but a single 'Impossible' answer will knock them out for the day.
