Born Anna Mae Bullock, she sought fame and fortune in St Louis, where she met the man who would make her – and try to break her – the dangerously charismatic Ike Turner.

Angela Basset films and series 
Angela Basset has appeared in many movies like Rosa Parks, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Jumping the Broom, Notorious as The Notorious B.I.G.’s mom and more recently Black Panther. She stars as Queen Ramonda who is the mother of T’Challa the Black Panther. 



Angela Basset has also been on the American Horror Story: Coven series as the voodoo queen Marie Laveau.  She earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for this role. 


Personal Life 
Angela Basset is married to Courtney B Vance since 1997. 


They have 12 year-old twins Josiah and Bronwyn.
