Critically acclaimed scripted drama series UnREAL on Lifetime (DStv channel 131) will shake up Monday night TV viewing with its snappy dialogue, dark humour and a story line unlike any other.
Set against the backdrop of the hit dating competition show Everlasting, UnREAL gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a reality show.
UnREAL starts on Monday 12 March at 20:00 on Lifetime (DStv channel 131) with a recap episode of season one and the first two episodes of season two. The remaining episodes of season two will then air back-to-back every Monday at 20:00 and 20:50. Season three premiers on 16 April at 20:00.

UnREAL centers around the flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby), a young producer whose sole job it is to manipulate the reality dating show contestants to get the outrageous footage and ‘good tv’ that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Emmy nominee Constance Zimmer), demands. What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television where being a contestant can be vicious and producing it is a whole other reality.
Season three of UnREAL is a game changer. Where season one and two saw a bachelor meet potential suitors, season three sees a single and successful business woman; Serena determined to have her pick of eager male suitors. In so doing she promises to give Everlasting producers Quinn and Rachel a run for their money, along with some ‘golden television’ moments.
UnREAL is the first scripted series fully produced and distributed by A+E Studios.
Equal parts hysterical and hard hitting, UnREAL is according to the Washington Post ‘wickedly addictive’. But be warned you might never be able to look at a reality match-up show in the same way again.
Tune in to Lifetime (DStv channel131) every Monday evening at 20:00 not to miss out.
