The Cast of Lifetime’s UnREAL: Everything you never knew you never knew about the faces you love!

The cast of UnREAL is a star-studded one, so you’ll no doubt recognise some of their beautiful faces from shows and films you’ve seen before. Hollywood’s a small place, after all…

But we bet there’s plenty you never knew about these famous faces – check out these unreal facts about these UnREAL stars!

Constance Zimmer (Quinn)

Constance has been in nearly every single show you’ve ever loved: on House of Cards, on Entourage, on Boston Legal. So you probably know the ins and outs of her acting career – but we bet you didn’t know that she makes handmade candles, greeting cards and jewellery in her spare time.

Oh, and also, she has a third nipple. Yes, really.

Check out our interview with Constance here!

Shiri Appleby (Rachel)

We’ve got no doubt that you’ll recognise the big brown eyes and long brown hair of Liz Parker from Roswell, the soft-spoken love interest of a man from another planet – but did you know that the scar above Shiri’s eyebrow comes from the time she was bitten by a dog as a child?

The incident resulted in a crippling phobia for Shiri – but never one to cower, she went on the show Emergency Vets, where she tended to wounded dogs and faced her fear. Yep: she might look meek and mild, but Shiri is one tough cookie!

Craig Bierko (Chet)

He might be drug-addled and crazy in UnREAL but actor Craig Bierko has some excellent stories from his life as a struggling actor, and our favourite one is this: he was nearly cast in the role of Chandler in Friends, but turned down the part!

Oh, Craig, where would you be now if you’d say yes? And where would Matthew Perry be? Could we BE anymore confused?

Freddie Stroma (Adam)

You might recognise young Freddie from his role as swaggery Quidditch player Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter films, but that’s far from being the most interesting thing about him: he’s also got a degree in neuroscience from University College London. Oh, and he models underwear in his spare time…

Hot AND smart? Take us away, Freddie…

Johanna Braddy (Anna)

Johanna’s had a diverse career, though she clearly tends towards the scary stuff – she appeared in both Paranormal Activity 3 AND The Grudge 3.

We bet you didn’t know, though, that Johanna is also a classically trained singer who always planned to become a performer. Glad you got side-tracked by acting, Jo…

Nathalie Kelley (Grace)

Kelley’s only 30 years old, but she’s lived 1000 lives: born in Peru and raised in Australia, Nathalie worked her way through school as a salsa dancer then became a model in Brazil. Horrified by what she saw there, she returned to Australia to study social science and work with indigenous youths – before moving to LA to become and actress.

Our favourite fact about Kelley, though? She’s the love interest in Bruno Mars’ video for Just The Way You Are. That song is dreamy.

Josh Kelly (Jeremy)

You’ll probably recognise Josh from Ugly Betty and Transformers, but he hasn’t be an actor for long – Josh is a soldier who served three tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq.

UnREAL hits Lifetime!

Lifetime’s hot new drama UnREAL, starring Shiri Appleby (Girls, Chicago Fire) and Constance Zimmer (House of Cards, The Newsroom, Grey's Anatomy), will premiere on Lifetime (DStv channel 131) on Monday 20 July at 20:45 CAT.  The ten episode, one-hour provocative drama, that gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a TV dating competition programme, was created by Marti Noxon (Mad Men, Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, Gray's Anatomy, Glee) and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro. It was inspired by Shapiro’s 2013 award-winning independent short film Sequin Raze.

Set against the backdrop of the fictional hit dating competition show Everlasting, UnREAL is led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Appleby), a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with, and among, the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the programme’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Zimmer), demands. What ensues is an eye-opening take on the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and being a producer is a whole other reality.

UnREAL also stars Craig Bierko (Damages) as Everlasting’s eccentric creator, Chet, and Freddie Stroma (Pitch Perfect) as the dating show’s handsome and intelligent suitor, Adam Cromwell. Other regular cast members include Josh Kelly (One Life to Live), Siobhan Williams (Black Box), Nathalie Kelley (The Fast and the Furious), Johanna Braddy (Shameless), Breeda Wool (Betas) and Ashley Scott (Jericho). Arielle Kebbel (The Vampire Diaries) guest stars as Britney, a contestant who has no filter and isn’t on Everlasting to make any friends.

UnREAL is produced by A+E Studios. Noxon executive produces while Shapiro serves as supervising producer. Sally DeSipio (Do Over) and Robert M. Sertner (Revenge) executive produce and Stacy Rukeyser (Twisted) is co-executive producer.

UnREAL begins its African premiere on Monday 20 July at 20:45 on Lifetime (DStv Channel 131).
