The show follows the same format as that of the drama series, Two which starred Michael Easton and Ringer with Sarah Michelle Gellar taking the lead role.

The Imposter comes to Mzansi Magic

The Imposter airs on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) and streams live on DStv Now on Sundays at 22:00. Identical twin sisters Mantwa and Matshepo Tau (both played by the talented Thishiwe Ziqubu) are at odds when Mantwa kidnaps her sister after escaping from prision with the help of her unstable and yet loyal accomplice Caesar (Khulu Skenjana) who quickly became a fan favourite. So, you don’t want to miss out Skenjana’s portrayal of his character.

 

 

All out mayhem ensues as Mantwa does whatever it takes to completely take over her sister’s life, who turns out to be not as innocent as initially thought. Mantwa’s end-game is to extort money from her sister’s husband, Regi (Mpumi Mpama) who is oblivious to the fact that the woman he shares a bed with is not his wife!

As the series continues it is revealed as to why Mantwa is so hell-bent on exacting revenge on her sibling. Adding to Mantwa's headache is detective Junior Sejake (Zenzo Nqobe) who will stop at nothing uncover the truth, not knowing that the woman he wants to put behind bars is right under his nose.

The twists and turns offer riveting viewing as Mantwa is often forced to think on her feet to keep the façade going, which often exposes her ruthless side.
