On the 23 and 30 April 2016, Zee TV Africa and Airport Times hosted auditions in Durban, South Africa, for local dancers that would join Karishma Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty on stage for the Iconic Bollywood Night featuring Himmesh Reshammiya on the Saturday 6 August at People's Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Dancers from all over KwaZulu-Natal showed up at the Indian Consulate Building in Kingsmead, Durban, to get their chance to be a part of Bollywood. Zee TV Africa and Airport Times judged the dancers and it was a true success. In total, 68 dancers were auditioned. These young performers with stars in their eyes really outshone with their popping and locking styles to hits like Selfie and Radha on the Dancefloor to graceful classical Indian dance styles for songs like Pinga and Dola Re Dol.
Out of the 68 dancers that were auditioned, 28 lucky hopefuls were shortlisted and their video auditions were sent through to India. 17 dancers have been selected from the 28 videos sent to India, which consists of seven boys and 10 girls.

The official choreographers for the Iconic Bollywood Night will be flying to Durban in the week prior to the event on the 6 August 2016 to work with the chosen dancers.
The choreographer that will be training our local dancers is Mr Lollypop and team from India. Our dancers will most definitely be in good hands for this performance. Mr Lollypop is a highly renowned dancer and choreographer. He has graced stages all over the world and forged his reputation in the industry by choreographing some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters and award shows.
These 17 talented South African artists will join Karishma Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty on stage for their individual performances as each artist will be doing two performances with crowd interactions on the night.
