Reggie Yates sits in prison wearing orange outfit

Find out what life is like on the inside of some of the most brutal institutions, as Reggie Yates returns as The Insider.

The Insider sees Reggie Yates live life for real inside some of the world’s most brutal institutions. From Friday, 16 February at 21:10, you can watch S2 of Reggie Yates: The Insider on BBC Brit (DStv Channel 120), and streaming live on DStv Now.

In season two, Reggie heads to Ghana, where both his parents were born, to live on one of the largest e-waste dumps in the world. Working with a group of ‘burner boys’, he discovers what life is like for the people who eek out a living on the dangerous and toxic waste site. Reggie then heads to the Middle East and in the final episode, Reggie is back in jail – this time as a guard.

As the title suggests, Reggie enters the most brutal institutions to experience first-hand the insights and observations of his subjects. Find out what life is really like on the inside.

In his own words:

‘What I’m doing, no one else is doing.’

Having started off his career with his first television appearance at the age of eight, followed by appearances in Disney Club, and the popular children’s series Grange Hill, Reggie has progressed to more hard-hitting documentary shows, having won various awards along the way. His interesting journey has also involved condemnations for his anti-Semitic podcast comments, for which he apologized, as well as the accusation by Australia’s indigenous communities that they were misled by Reggie and the production crew, which led to an apology from the BBC.

The ground-breaking documentary maker Reggie Yates is also involved in charity work with The Commonwealth Games and UNICEF.
