She explains that there isn't alot of preparation that goes into the role because it’s still on a small scale but added that she can spend up to six hours on set doing hair, make-up and rehearsals.

Talking about her experience with the cast, Phumzile describes them as "great" and says that even seasoned actors like Lindo and Christine Baranski are humble. She feels like she fits right in because of the diversity of the cast.

“A lot of the actors that I'm working with in The Good Fight are actually foreign. Cush Jumbo who plays Lucca Quinn and Rose Leslie who plays Maia in The Good Fight are from England,” she says.

She goes on to describe how everyone on set speaks with their accents but as soon as it is action time, it is all American accents. “It’s actually kind of funny,” she says.

Phumzile looks up to Viola Davis because of her interesting journey and “seamless transition” from theatre to TV and movie roles.

“I just love hearing anything she has to say about our craft. Whether or not you're an actor, you'll be inspired by her outlook on approaching what we do.”

As far as her dream role is concerned, Phumzile would like to play a powerful character that also has a soft side, "...someone who is smart but has a deep vulnerability. Being vulnerable is always a challenge.”

Phumzile enjoys watching legal dramas like The Good Fight and The People vs OJ Simpson. She also likes family-orientated series like This is Us (available on DStv Catch Up).
