Children’s favourites Dora & Friends (for the first time in South Africa), PAW Patrol and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are the star attractions at Sandton City's Children’s Festive Wonderland, which takes place at Africa's largest shopping mall from 9 December to 24 December.
 
These popular Nickelodeon (305) TV characters come to Johannesburg for holiday entertainment at its best for the entire family with four free stage shows every, day plus three meet-and-greet sessions, as well as plenty of fun in a giant 10 000 piece LEGO® pit. Entrance for all activities is free of charge.

PAW Patrol
 
PAW Patrol favourites Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Sky and Rubble will be entertaining youngsters in a live stage show from 9 December to 13 December; Dora, Kate and Pablo from Dora & Friends are in town from 14 December to 18 December and Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Rafael from TMNT will be in action from 19 December to 24 December.
 
A group of six rescue dogs, led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder, have adventures in PAW Patrol. The heroic pups, who believe “no job is too big, no pup is too small”, work together to protect the community. Among the members of the group are firedog Marshall, police pup Chase and fearless Skye. All of the animals have special skills, gadgets and vehicles that help them on their rescue missions.
 
A spin-off of the original Dora the Explorer series, the popular Dora and Friends stars the heroine Dora as a pre-teen who goes on city adventures with a group of new friends. They include Kate, who loves art; Emma, who loves music; Alana, who's tomboyish and loves animals; Naiya, who is smart and enjoys reading, and Pablo, who enjoys playing soccer.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are four teenage anthropomorphic turtles named after Italian Renaissance artists. From their home in sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated animals and alien invaders while attempting to remain hidden from society.
 
The Sandton City Children’s Festive Wonderland takes place in the Checkers Court area at Sandton City from 9 December to 24 December. Show times are at 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 18:00. There are also three daily meet-and-greet sessions where youngsters can say hello to their favourite TV character. There is no charge for entry.
 
These live shows are only part of Sandton City’s spectacular festive activities, as the shopping centre will also host a large LEGO pit in the same area, as well as a Christmas tree build, a policeman build, a LEGO Friends photo opportunity, a Duplo section for younger children and face-painting.
 
The Toy Kingdom train is also offering youngsters rides around the centre. One of the most important people at Christmas, Santa Claus, will be sitting in his sleigh, posing for photographs with customers.
 
There will be two gift-wrapping kiosks where shoppers can have all their presents beautifully wrapped for a R10 (small size gift), R15 (medium size gift) or R20 (large gift) donation. All proceeds from the gift wrapping will be donated to Sandton City’s selected charity for 2016, the Sandton SPCA.
