Interior designers Nate Berkus and husband Jeremiah Brent to the rescue.
It really is a gift to be able to look at something not working, and flip it into a complete design masterpiece.
It may be far-fetched for some of us, but for Nate Berkus and husband Jeremiah Brent, it’s second nature.
The dynamic interior design duo now have a new show on TLC (135) called Nate and Jeremiah By Design, Mondays at 20:55 from 7 August.
Nate and Jeremiah By Design will give us a peek into their personal lives as a married couple raising their baby girl, Poppy, as well as take us along for some renovation rehabilitation as they help people turn renovation projects that have flopped, into renovation magic!
Nate’s story is an interesting one with some hard dips. Although he is in a happy place with husband and daughter now, things weren’t always so smooth.
Sadly, horror struck for Nate and his then partner Fernando Bengoechea in December 2004. When holidaying in Sri Lanka, the 2004 tsunami hit during their stay. While Nate survived, his partner was swept away and presumed dead. Nate often reflects on his experience and has dedicated books he has written to Fernando.
Despite this horrific disaster, Nate focused on his career. Being no stranger to TV, he was on one of Oprah Winfrey’s shows, Oprah's Big Give, in 2008 and had a self-titled show in 2010: The Nate Berkus Show.
Interestingly, he was also Executive Producer of 2011 movie The Help.
In 2014, he married Jeremiah Brent and in 2015, they welcomed their daughter Poppy Brent-Berkus into the world via surrogate.
So, to be inspired by interior design, strength in relationships or to peek into their marriage, watch Nate and Jeremiah By Design on Mondays at 20:55 from 7 August on TLC Entertainment (135).
