Goliath and Goliath along with BET (129) present the ultimate "unplugged’ music experience, BET Music Sunday at Roast Cafe.

Leaders in South African comedy, Goliath and Goliath, and general entertainment channel BET (129) present the ultimate "unplugged’ music experience, BET Music Sunday at Roast Cafe, on Sunday 1 May.

Combining South Africa’s finest stand-up comedians with local and international musical talent, BET Music Sunday at Roast Cafe marks the culmination of the three-day Comedy Central Presents Goliath Comedy Experience (Friday 29 April 2016 to Sunday 1 May), taking place at Africa’s new premium entertainment venue, The Goliath Comedy Club, in association with Melrose Arch.

BET Music Sunday at Roast Cafe promises an incredible afternoon of live music from homegrown stars Reason and Bombshelter Beast, plus some old-school hip-hop from DJ ID – all topped off with laughter from stand-up geniuses Tol A$$ Mo, Tracey-Lee Oliver and Deep Fried Man.

South African hip-hop legend Reason released his fourth album at the end of 2015 and continues to reign as one of the longest-standing names in the business. The two-time South African Music Award (SAMA) nominee and chart-topper will take to the #BETSunday stage, headlining the culmination of a weekend dedicated to showcasing South Africa’s finest spectrum of entertainment talent.

Akio Kawahito, aka internationally recognised US hip-hop DJ and producer DJ ID, released his first single, Brand New, in 2015. It reached number 1 on 5FM’s The Stir Up and YFM’s The Hip Hop Floor. With a growing following of fans from around the world, DJ ID is currently a radio mix DJ for The Beat Eruption in Maseru, Lesotho, and continues to establish himself as one of the most influential names in the genre.

Taking South African collaborations to the next level is Bombshelter Beast, a group that showcases some of the country’s most colourful and inventive musicians. With frontman platinum-selling rapper Pitch Black Afro backed by some of the best instrumentalists in the business, the band produces a unique South African sound that mixes everything from kwaito to ska, Balkan hip-hop, rock and jazz.

Tickets for BET Music Sunday at Roast Café are on sale via TicketPro at Doors open at 13:00 CAT. The show starts at 14:00 CAT.
