Judges from My Kitchen Rules South Africa.

My Kitchen Rules South Africa returns this week on Sunday 27 August at 18:00 on M-Net (101) with husband-wife duo, Bruce and Claudia from Midrand. The two plan to pull out all the stops in their attempt to lead in the MKRSA competition. Can they beat out Bloem besties, Liz and Leanne?

The pair have kept fellow contestants guessing what their next moves will be each time – little is known about their strategy and true opinions from the last two weeks. Could a strategy be sizzling silently to top the leader board?

Liz and Leanne weighed in after discovering the parent pair were next up saying that it’s bound to be explosive. They noted Bruce’s perfectionist ways and wondered what would happen if things went south in the kitchen. Time will tell how Bruce will handle the situation when things start heating up.

Even book club besties Kelly and Claire had their own thoughts about Bruce, thinking that the married couple’s less than adventurous side may be a negative, causing them to play it safe. With that said, we’ve yet to see Kelly and Claire as hosts and wonder what they’ll whip up.

This past Sunday saw ‘food dudes’ Rein and Rowan from Krugersdorp have an unsuccessful time against Liz and Leanne’s top score of 69 out of 100. Their offering of a garlic prawn starter, guinea fowl main and a strawberry and peanut butter parfait dessert didn’t manage to scrape together enough points to lead – only scoring 63 out of 100.

This week, if Bruce and Claire plan to become the leaders of the food pack, they’ll need to introduce some creativity with unique flavours and pairings. With Bruce’s mixed Chinese and Belgian heritage and Claudia born in Mauritius, we suspect creativity isn’t a hard feat for these two.

My Kitchen Rules SA is broadcast on M-Net channel 101 every Sunday night at 18:00.
