Lani and Louzel in My kitchen Rules South Africa.

My Kitchen Rules South Africa returns on Sunday 3 September at 18:00 on M-Net (101) with mother-daughter duo Lani and Louzel. The pair will play host to eight fellow contestants and celebrity guest judges David Higgs and J’Something at their family farm in Cradock, Eastern Cape.

Will the farm life see the contestants drop their guard or will their farm style feast prove to be fierce competition?

“I’m looking forward to serving good, hearty farm food,” Louzel revealed. We’re all curious to see how this rustic cooking is taken to the next cuisine level.  “We’re going to pull out all of the stops and show them true Karoo hospitality, and bring a generation of knowledge to this competition,” Cradock mom Lani said confidently.

Typical South African farm-style food can be anticipated, so what will be on the menu?

“I’m hoping for a warm farm stew or some delicious soup!” Claudia shared. With her and husband Bruce on the top of the leader board, they can sit back and enjoy their time… for now. The same can’t be said for Rein and Rowan who are desperately hoping for one wrong step by Lani and Louzel. Eliminations are looming and their bottom placement hasn’t shifted.

Lani and Louzel are no strangers to food from processing their own ingredients to whipping up tasty dishes, anyone wishing for a mistake to happen will need to watch carefully to see if any are made. Where their strengths lie in farm-style food and it’s been noted that comfort food is where they reign supreme, that’s where it stops. Can they still surprise everyone by creating a winning menu? Bruce and Claudia surprised us, we won’t be surprised if this mother-daughter duo do too.

Bloem besties, Liz and Leanne will return with their critical eyes. Their attention for detail is admirable and there’s no doubt they’ll be zoning in to Lani and Louzel’s dishes. The pair will have to keep an eye on the ball and not be distracted to come out top with their fellow home cooks.
