Vanessa Villela talks about playing the villain Elena in Telemundo's Part of Me.

Actress Vanessa Villela plays the villain Elena in the new Telemundo show, Part Of Me, starting on Monday 11 May at 16:20.

Vanessa started her career as early as four when she auditioned for and landed herself her first TV appearance. She's been in Mexico and has been in the acting profession ever since.

Vanessa says she really enjoyed playing Elena, the niece of Monica, a world-renowned LA pianist with an impressive fortune. Monica dies after the betrayal of her ambitious and deranged niece (Vanessa's character) and her much younger husband, Gerardo.

"She (Elena) has a lot of emotional issues with her mom being an alcoholic and she's just really in need of love and wants what she can't have," says Vanessa.
She also says that Elena is envious of Monica and the kind of life she lives, as well as the power she has over men.

Even with all her negative emotions Vanessa says she's grateful for the experience, “The last episodes it was hard but I was very happy to have performed those scenes. It was an amazing role."

Vanessa has had over ten years’ experience working with Telemundo and she’s “very happy” there. She has been in other productions like Second Chance amongst others.

She looks up to the likes of Meryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. “I had the opportunity to see Elephant Man in Broadway and it was the best performance of my life.” In fact, Vanessa loved it so much she went to see it again.

Besides Telemundo, Vanessa also enjoys watching Friends (Friday 15 may at 18:10 on Sony) which makes her laugh and Suits (weekdays at 14:20 on Lifetime). “The acting is amazing and the show is good and the wardrobe is also good,” she said. Vanessa also can’t stop raving about GoT, “Game of Thrones is like wow.”
GoT airs Mondays at 03:00 and Thursdays at 21:00 on M-Net Edge.

Vanessa is now living in LA and taking acting classes, “I believe an actor learns everyday and I’m just learning how to be a better actor.”
In her next role she hopes to “perform a good girl role for a change” because she says people have seen the villain side she can play, now it’s time to showcase her diverse acting skills with the good.

In true Telemundo style Part of Me promises to be action-packed with romance, betrayal and even death.

Vanessa is also very excited for it to start and hopes people will enjoy Part of Me and especially Elena.

Don’t miss Part Of Me, starting on Monday 11 May at 16:20 on Telemundo, DStv channel 118.
