More than 60 parties have registered their interest to bid for the proposed new, black-owned news channel since MultiChoice invited interested parties to do so earlier this month.

“We’re delighted and overwhelmed at the response,” commented Calvo Mawela, CEO for MultiChoice South Africa “and we’re encouraged that we’ll be able to offer South Africans another local news channel, which will add to the diversity and plurality of news on DStv.”

MultiChoice has now opened the tender process. All parties who have registered will receive a link to respond to a Request for Proposal on an online platform. The process closes on 30 April 2018.

After this date, the evaluation process will kick off. The successful bidder will be notified before 31 July 2018.

Parties who are still interested to register their intention to bid, have until 20 April 2018 to do so.  Simply go to MultiChoice.co.za or follow this link: Register your intention to bid.
