Son to Jada Pinkett and Will Smith, Jaden became an actor from the tender age of eight when he starred with his father in The Pursuit of Happyness (Wednesday 27 April at 20:00 on SONY).
His role as Gardner's son, Christopher Jnr, earned him the award for Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards.
He has gone from strength to strength and even starred alongside Jackie Chan in the remake of the 1984 film The Karate Kid (Saturday 2 April at 20:30 on Mzansi Magic).
In the movie, Jaden is Dre Parker, a 12-year-old boy who moves to Beijing with his mother, Sherry (played by Taraji P Henson). After catching the attention of a beautiful violinist, Meiying, Dre gets attacked by Cheng. Mr Han (Jackie Chan) rescues Dre from the attack and thereafter becomes his teacher. They develop a bond and face off against Cheng in the end.
Before The Karate Kid, Jaden starred in the movie The Day Earth Stood Still in 2008 and subsequently reunited with his dad onscreen in the 2013 film After Earth - where they again took on roles as father and son - and Jaden stars as a young slave, Henry, in the 2014 movie The Good Lord Bird.
Jaden has also released a mixtape The Cool Cafe in 2012 and has sang alongside Justin Bieber in Never Say Never. When he isn't on set, Jaden also performs on various tours in the US and around Europe.
Jaden has his own clothing brand, MSFTSrep, which has hoodies, T-shirts and vests. He was revealed as the new face of Louis Vuitton Womenswear earlier this year.
