Theresa Borg is the writer and director for the all new Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries, which will take place at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City in Johannesburg from 4 to 6 December and at the Grand Arena, Grand West in Cape Town from 11 to 13 December.
Theresa says that it will be a not-to-be-missed event because it has "really decent production values".
"It’s all-new for a start. The chief delight to me is the way we plan to use each local theatre to help us tell the story. It’s also a fabulous introduction to the theatre."
"Fans can expect all the usual Mystery Inc antics and scary fun with the added bonus that the story is set in a local theatre and features all-new music and dance numbers."
She says that if you love Scooby-Doo on TV, then you'll love this production because there are similarities. "The characters are lovable and recognisable and we know what to expect from them."
The whole idea of Scooby-Doo and the gang coming to theatre came when the gang received an invitation to investigate a haunting from someone called Z. "The gang try to double bluff the ghost by touring in disguise as a band and the mystery unfolds from there."
The show is suitable for the whole family and for music lovers, "There are pop songs, sing-along moments, song and dance moments in the best music theatre tradition."
"Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries is the perfect introduction to music theatre in the company of beloved family characters."
