The 2018 Cape Town Carnival promises colour, fun and a celebration to remember when it returns for another year of spectacular.

Get ready for a celebration of colour and fun when the Mother City lights up with the Cape Town Carnival on Saturday 17 March. From bright costumes to spectacular music, the event sponsored by M-Net and DStv will bring to life the passion for the city of Cape Town.

What started in 2010 during the FIFA World Cup, has grown to become a must-see event! Promoting community involvement and the rich culture of the Western Cape sea-side city, it's an event to keep you mesmerized with colour, sound and visual wonder. 

Initially starting with an 11 000 strong audience, the carnival now sees an attendance of over 40 000 people! Not only does it offer a fun experience but the carnival has a strong link towards uplifting the community and job creation during the period leading up to the big day

The theme for the 2018 Cape Town Carnival is “Mother City, Mother Nature” meaning that there will be an exploration of the natural beauty that surrounds the city. Feel free to dress up and step out in style with the boldest of attire to catch everyone's eye. It's expected to be a celebration of note with a number of South Africa's beloved musical stars taking the stage after the parade happenings. 

On Saturday 17 March 2018 you can expect some major fun! Not only can you experience the world of DStv Family, but meet and great the cast of the hit Afrikaans series, Suidooster. Get to rub shoulders with your favourite faces from the weekly show that has everyone hooked weekdays at 18:30 on kykNET & Kie on DStv Channel 145 and streaming on DStv Now
