Usain Bolt with a Manchester United jersey.

Before the emotional farewell, let’s look at some interesting facts about the man who has redefined the world of athletics.

On Saturday 12 August on SuperSport 8 (DStv Channel 208) and on DStv Now from 11:55, Usain Bolt will be running in the heats of the Men’s 4x100m Relay which means the Jamaican sprinter will be potentially running his second last race (if his team qualifies for the final on Sunday 13 August).

Before the emotional farewell let’s look at some interesting facts about the man who has redefined the world of athletics.

A Red Devil in running spikes

Bolt has aspirations of donning on the Manchester United jersey after his retirement from athletics. We wonder if United coach José Mourinho would consider the sprinter as winger in his starting eleven.

The Bowler

As a youngster Usain was an avid cricket bowler. If he bowls as fast as he runs, we reckon he could cause plenty of batsmen headaches.

The last meal

He fuelled up with chicken nuggets and yam before winning the 100m men’s final at the Beijing Olympics. We wonder what's on the menu now?

Tie your shoe laces or you will fall

As kids our mothers are quick to warn us about the shortfalls of walking or even running with untied shoe laces. Well for Bolt, tripping over his untied shoe laces was never an issue. Instead, he set a new world record of 9.69 at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
