Dark Matter to launch exclusively on Universal Channel.
Universal Channel (DStv channel 117) is bringing a brand new show to viewers with the territory premiere of Dark Matter on Thursday, 30 July at 20:00.
This hot new show features a crew of travellers bound together under mysterious circumstances, and forced into an exhilarating journey with enemies on their tail and a final destination they could never have expected.
Dark Matter follows the six-person crew of a spaceship who awake from stasis to find their memories wiped. With no recollection of who they are or how they got there, the group must begin to unravel the mysteries of their respective pasts as the tension mounts. Their epic journey through space will see them face up to important questions about human nature. Are people born bad or are they a product of their environment? And once they’ve followed a certain path, is there any turning back?
This fast-paced action adventure series features a talented cast, including Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Melissa O’Neil (the Broadway production of Les Miserables), Alex Mallari Jr (Robocop), Jodelle Ferland (Twilight), Roger Cross (The Strain) and Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl) as the crew’s reliable but snarky android companion.
Based on the graphic novel by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, published by Dark Horse Comics, Dark Matter sees the crew face threats from beyond, surviving attacks from bounty hunters, ruthless corporations and former enemies. The show is executive produced by showrunner Joseph Mallozzi (the Stargate franchise) and Prodigy Pictures Inc’s Jay Firestone (Lost Girl).
Watch Dark Matter, airing every Thursday at 20:00, only on Universal Channel (DStv channel 117).
