Let us show you how to make the most out of your DStv Now experience with your downloads and data usage.
Mobile data settings
Using DStv Now with a wifi connection ensures you never miss a moment when on the go. Choosing to use wifi allows you to control your mobile data bill while you can still manage your video quality settings on DStv Now to make the most out of your viewing experience.
If you’re not connected to the wifi, you can still use your mobile data to never miss a moment! Navigate to the menu and Settings > General > Use Mobile Data on the DStv Now app:
- Are you on wifi? You can turn off mobile data. You will be asked if you want to proceed with playing the Catch Up or Live TV content using mobile data if there is no wifi connection. Mobile data is turned off by default. To avoid heavy data bills, we recommend keeping this option off.
On mobile data:
- Turn on mobile data usage to use your own data when not connected to wifi.
No internet? No problem! When you have access to wifi you can download up to 25 items on up to 4 devices to watch offline – no data cost! Files range in size, so keep an eye out if you’re using a capped internet connection.
- If the download icon (a cloud) has a cross through it, content cannot be downloaded
- You can view your pending or in-progress downloads via the download queue on the app through the menu > downloads
