Choirs performing on stage.

Choirs turn back the hands of time for golden oldies challenge.

After an emotional farewell from Busiswa’s team KwaZulu-Natal last week, five choirs remain in the competition. This Sunday 8 March, the choirs will pay homage to classic pop songs that have inspired many musicians and producers over the past decades. From The Supremes, Smokey Robinson to Stevie Wonder, the choirs will have to revive these old hits, which used to be in heavy rotation across radio stations, all over the world.

The much-anticipated song list this week will be as follows:

After surviving elimination this past Sunday, Western Cape’s Team iFani kicks off the performances with Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ You Really Got a Hold On Me.

Mpumalanga’s Team JR follows right after with a rendition of The ContoursDo You Love Me? Free State’s Team S’fiso reworks Stevie Wonder’s Superstition. Gauteng’s Team Kelly takes on Baby Love by The Supremes. Eastern Cape’s Team Bucie wraps up the performances with The TemptationsMy Girl.

Tune into Mzansi Magic (161) at 17:30 this Sunday, as SAMA and Kora Award winner, music producer and songwriter Ringo Madlingozi joins the judging panel in the explosive golden oldies challenge. Which choir will bomb out of the competition?
