Comedians show TV personalities the way to funny.
What do TV presenters Jeannie D and Khanyi Mbau, rapper and Idols SA host ProVerb; celebrity chef and MasterChef SA judge Benny Masekwameng; media personalities Kuli Roberts and John Robbie; Isidingo star Robert Whitehead and former Bafana Bafana player Mark Williams have in common?
They are all about to be turned into stand-up comedians thanks to help from some comic heavyweights and Comedy Central’s brilliant new show Famous Last Words, Mondays at 21:00 on Comedy Central (122). Not only is it going to provide 10 weeks of riveting television, it is all for a good cause! There will be a Famous Last Words Gala Event – open to the public with stand-up performances by the comics and their celebrity mentees – with proceeds going to the Smile Foundation.
Catch up on the other Famous Last Words episodes here on DStv Now.
This Monday (21 August) at 21:00 sees John Robbie’s Irish heritage rub off on Kagiso Lediga with a jig and a beer! Followed by the former Irish rugby player getting a rattling in comedy 101 from Kagiso - it's bound to have you in hysterics!
Take a peek at what went down in the video below:
The comedians – Jason Goliath, John Vlismas, Casper de Vries, Rob van Vuuren, Nina Hastie, Kagiso Lediga, Mpho Popps and Joey Rasdien – will spend time with their celebrity partners and step into their psyche to find the funny in their everyday lives, with hilarious and sometimes painful results. This will enable them to coach their protégé with the goal of doing their first ever five-minute stand-up comedy set in front of a live audience.
