Mr Robot S3 on Showmax.

Season three of Mr Robot is nearly here and we're excited! Get ready with Showmax.

The third season of award-winning drama series Mr Robot comes first and only to Showmax from Thursday, 12 October, with fresh episodes landing weekly straight from the US broadcast. Now’s your chance to catch up on Seasons 1 and 2, on Showmax.

Enter the world of Elliot, a security engineer by day and a troubled hacker by night. When he’s recruited by the enigmatic anarchist Mr Robot, he finds himself at the centre of a cyber-war between the conglomerate E Corp and the hacktivists of fsociety. Elliot is played by Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek, who won the Emmy last year for Best Actor (making him the first actor of colour to do so in 18 years). This year, the series was up for four other Emmys, including Outstanding Guest Actor for BD Wong, who plays White Rose, the head of rival Chinese hacker group The Dark Army.

Awards for Mr Robot

Mr Robot has also won Golden Globes for Best TV Drama and Best Supporting Actor (for Christian Slater, who plays Mr Robot); an Emmy for Original Music; Critics Choice Awards for Best Actor (Malek), Best Supporting Actor (Slater) and Best TV Drama; a coveted Peabody Award; and a Writers Guild Association Award for New Series.

Brace yourself for Season 3

Now, if you’ve already seen Seasons 1 and 2, you’ll find out in the trailer that the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 resolves itself by Elliot waking up with no idea of where he is. You might want to rewatch the first two seasons to spot the clues you almost definitely missed, because the layers of meaning and symbolism in this show are so next-level that there’s no way you can take them in at once.

Watch the season 3 trailer below - if you have not watched the first two seasons, you may want to avoid the spoilers:

But if you haven’t watched Mr Robot yet, we highly recommend dipping your toes in its dark, murky waters. Get used to second-guessing your assumptions, because nothing is what it seems. This is one series that will force you to put down your phone and pay full attention.

Whether you’re a Mr Robot novice or expert, brace yourself for Season 3: it looks like things are ready to explode, as Phase 2 closes in, Elliot’s multiple personalities grow stronger and nobody can trust anyone.

Watch Mr Robot from the very beginning on Showmax, with brand-new episodes of Season 3 hitting your screens every week, express from the US, from Thursday, 12 October.
