From incredible shows to big moments and wedding bells, this is what went down in 2017.

We could be clichéd and ask “where has the year gone!?” but we won’t. Instead, we’re going to share 17 things that happened in the world of entertainment this year.

So let’s take a stroll down memory lane to see some of what happened in 2017:

1. We were gifted the series of Big Little Lies – who remembers how the first episode was available on DStv.com before it even aired on M-Net? Now we’ve got news of a season 2! It's not too late to binge watch season 1 on Showmax either. 

2. The Bold Type totally came through and served us everything we needed: strong young females tackling tough topics. Also, it’s been renewed for two more seasons!

3. The Bachelorette made history with its first African-American lead – Rachel Lindsay.

4. Showmax being added to your DStv Premium account at no extra cost – anyone else up for a binge session?

5. Kim Engelbrecht joined the cast of The Flash! #PROUD

6. Kim Kardashian West dished on her favourite meme of herself!

7. We also celebrated 10 years of the Kardashians on E! Entertainment.

8. The Walt Disney Company brought down talent to South Africa for the first time ever! We got to hang out with Disney's Descendant's 2 cast members Dove Cameron, Thomas Doherty and Cameron Boyce. 

9. Oh, and Disney Channel became available to DStv Compact Plus and DStv Compact customers! Not forgetting Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior are now available to stream on DStv Now! Disney is clearly #Winning.

10. Raven Symone returning in a spin-off of That’s So Raven! Our childhood selves are happy!

11. Showmax released their debut original series: Tali’s Wedding Diary starring Julia Anastasopoulos (aka SuzelleDIY). Watch it right now! #ProudMoment

12. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters became Miss Universe.

13. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially hearing wedding bells.

14. Cardi B is the breakout star we never expected – anyone else have Bodak Yellow on repeat?

15. Thuso Mbedu was nominated for an International Emmy Award for her role in Mzansi Magic's Is'thunzi.

16. Taylor Swift made a comeback and embraced the snake reputation served by Kimye.

17. Tyra Banks is returning as the host for America’s Next Top Model. We can’t wait to have the Smize queen back!
