Madea, the baddest granny on the block, returns for her latest adventure - taking on a group of fraternity boys dressed as ghosts and ghouls on Halloween.

Madea and her friends Bam, Joe and Hattie are meant to stop 17 year-old Tiffany from attending a Halloween party at a nearby college fraternity house – being paid to do so by Madea’s nephew, and Tiffany’s father, Brian, when he has to leave town on business.

Desperate to attend to win the approval of her friends, Tiffany scares her pensioner babysitters into going to bed early with a spooky tale, escapes and heads to the party. When Madea eventually emerges from her room, she finds Tiffany gone and heads to the frat house. Tiffany's friends lie to cover for her, but Madea sees through their deception and tries to shut the party down, but is thrown and is forced to leave.

Undaunted, she calls the police, who arrive and shut down the party. Realising that Madea was behind the call, the frat boys decide to give the elderly babysitters the fright of their lives by setting up a series of Halloween pranks. Madea soon finds herself under attack and on the run from an assortment of ghosts, ghouls and zombies, on the scariest night of the year.

After being chased around town by the vengeful frat boys, a confession by one of Tiffany’s friends gives Madea a chance to turn the tables on her tormentors – and Tiffany - hatching a high-stakes plan to make them pay.

Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween is the ninth film in the Madea series. The idea for the film actually originated from a fictitious ‘Madea Halloween’ movie that formed part of Chris Rock’s 2014 film Top Five – making it just the second film in the series (after Madea’s Witness Protection) to not be adapted from a stage play. Tyler Perry liked the idea – despite it being a joke – and spun Rock’s concept into a fully-fledged film, which he shot in just 6 days.
