Game of Thrones season 7 has just aired its final episode on M-Net (see the finale on DStv Catch Up), and it is so hard to say goodbye. The good news is DStv is jam-packed with quality programming that will fill the GoT-sized hole in your viewing schedule.
If it’s the thrilling plot of the award-winning Game of Thrones that you will miss, look to The Path, Monday nights at 22:10 on M-Net (DStv 101). M-Net has an impressive line-up of thriller dramas this month, such as Hunters (premieres Tuesday, 5 September at 23:15), The Americans, which returns for its fifth season on Wednesday, 13 September at 21:00, and The Sinner (starting Tuesday, 19 September at 21:00).
There is serious star power in the cast of Game of Thrones, and a few of the actors can be seen in other roles across DStv channels. Can’t get enough of Peter Dinklage? Look out for him in Death At A Funeral on Thursday, 17 September at 11:55 on M-Net Movies Smile (DStv 105). Lena Headey makes a compelling Cersei Lannister, but did you know she also voiced the character of Aunt Grandma on Cartoon Network’s Uncle Grandpa (weeknights from 22:50 on DStv 301)? Headey also has a turn in 300, airing Tuesday, 12 September at 21:45 on Studio Universal (DStv 112). You can see Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) in the role of Louisa Clark in the film adaptation of Jojo Moyes’s romantic novel Me Before You on Monday, 11 September at 20:55 on M-Net Movies Smile (DStv 105).
To introduce the younger viewers in your family to the wild and wonderful ways of mythical creatures, tune into Pete’s Dragon on Friday, 8 September at 12:20 on M-Net Movies Smile (DStv 105), and Where the Wild Things Are at 11:30 on Sunday, 10 September, on M-Net Movies Smile (DStv 105), also available on DStv Now.
Game of Thrones is also not the only place to find twisted family dynamics. Set your PVR to record The Hybrids Family, a fun film about the children of a vampire and a witch, at 04:45 on M-Net Movies Smile (DStv 105). Nothing pushes siblings together quite like the promise of a great inheritance, and this is clear with the Bordelon family in season 2 of Queen Sugar, Tuesdays at 20:00 on Vuzu AMP (DStv 103).
The 2019 premiere date for season 8 of Game of Thrones might feel like it is ages away, but by staying connected to DStv you can enjoy great quality entertainment while you wait.
