This year we made a commitment to contribute to the welfare and development of children’s talents through various sports sponsorships. The Kampala Kids Run is the perfect climax to the activities we have been part and parcel of since the beginning of this year. The future athletes of our country need the support and encouragement to develop their skills further and as DStv we are proud we can be influential in that regard. Further to that DStv prides itself for bringing families together both through the entertaining channels we carry as well as the activities we partake in, the Kids Run is no different."

We are proud that the proceeds of this run will go towards a good cause – safe drinking water for children in schools. All credit has to go to all the participants for the contribution towards the lives of children in schools. We are confident that this sponsorship will be a big boost for the Kids Run.The fact that as a nation we are now more fitness alert makes this run that much more special because ensuring the fitness of the young will groom them towards a certain lifestyle as adults.”

Two races will be carried out on the day, 1.5 and 3km races. Other partners include Athletics Federation, Case Clinic as well as Uganda Police, who will provide adequate security for the runners on the day.

Kiwanuka concluded by saying: “Other activities that participants and parents should partake in include face painting, egg hunting, bouncing castles and other exciting activities for children.”
