Launched in 2016 Huba was not only the first Telenovela on Maisha Magic Bongo but also the first locally produced Telenovela in Tanzania, emerging as a cultural phenomenon, contributing significantly to the emergence of Tanzania's modern television industry, offering opportunities, creating stars and showing the commercial viability of domestic production.

Aziz Mohammed, producer and director of the show says, "The show's greatest accomplishment is in revolutionizing the perception of the local film industry. 'Huba has revolutionized Tanzania's film industry by proving to investors that we can tell good stories and there is huge demand for those stories,' Mohammed said."

During the last decade, the television drama has also acted as a launch pad for upcoming actors.

"Nelly Kamwelu, an actress has said, "Producer and director Aziz Mohammed opened the doors for me in the acting industry."

Similarly, actor Jacob Steven says Huba was a milestone in his acting career and helped him secure a future in the industry. "I am thankful to Maisha Magic Bongo because it was the first platform that gave recognition to my acting work. I believe I will be seen at that place anytime a chance is given," he says
