SuperSport DStv Cup kick-off date announced.

Gor Mahia to battle Bandari FC in the SuperSport DStv Cup that kicks off on Saturday on SuperSport.

SuperSport and DStv have announced a Sh3M sponsorship for this year’s SuperSport DStv Cup that kicks off on Saturday 6 February at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

Sportpesa Premier League (SPL) champions Gor Mahia FC and GOtv Shield Champions Bandari FC are set to battle for the honours of the Cup.

MultiChoice Kenya Corporate Communications Manager Philip Wahome reiterated MultiChoice Kenya’s long-term commitment to the Kenyan market through its investment in local content and talent. 

Kenyan Premier League Chairman Ambrose Rachier was delighted that, for the first time, the tournament will be played away from Nairobi and will in future be hosted in other towns in the country.

While launching the tournament, Auka Gecheo, SuperSport General Manager for East Africa, explained that Local Productions Kenya is proud to sponsor the tournament.

“The two giants of Kenyan football, who meet on Saturday 6 February 2016 at Mbaraki Stadium Mombasa live on SuperSport 9East at 15:00 EAT, will battle it out for the sole title of champion of champions in the sixth edition of the SuperSport DStv Cup,” he added.

The cash price money for the winner is Shs 750 000 and Shs 500 000 to the runners-up.
