DStv sits down with features writer Kiundu Waweru, finalist for the 2015 CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Award
It’s once again that time of the year when top journalists are recognized by the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards. Out of over 1,000 applications only 31 nominees were chosen from 39 countries across the continent, among them being Kiundu Waweru from Kenya.
Kiundu, a first-time nominee and among Kenya’s five - has been a features writer for more than five years.
He’s main interest is development communication, with most of his stories being based on education, health among topics like public interest, investigative reports, entertainment and lifestyle features.
We caught up with Kiundu at our DStv offices just before he left for New York to report on the Global Leadership Summit. He was more than thrilled with the CNN nomination and is eyeing the prize – “what will be a win for feature writers,” he said.
Find out more about Kiundu's work and his plans for the future.
