Shehzana Anwar to represent Kenya in archery category in the Olympics, live on SuperSport and in HD
Shehzana Anwar is the only Kenyan archer in the Rio Olympics 2016. So much pressure for a 26-year-old to be the only one to represent her country in such an 'odd' category. Odd because Kenyans are not known for archery, just like we weren't known for javelin until Julius Yego YouTubed his way into fame.
Like Yego, Shehzana is going for nothing less than gold in Rio. In January 2016, she won a gold medal at the African Archery Championships in Namibia, bagging a ticket to the Olympics.
Let's go #TeamKenya. Join us on DStv as we cheer on this extraordinary Kenyan Olympian when the biggest competition in the world kicks off on SuperSport on Friday, 5 August, live and in HD from Brazil. Shehzana makes her debut in Women's Archery Ranking Round at 19:00.
To get you in the right mood, here are a few things you might not know about this young archer going for Gold.
