Our success depends on the health and growth of the communities within which we operate. We are commited to see those communities grow.

With a presence in over 50 African countries, MultiChoice Africa is very conscious of its responsibility towards society.

We understand that our success depends on the health and growth of the communities within which we operate. In contributing to this development, we leverage our core assets and expertise to nurture talent, harness skills and expand opportunities across Africa. Our support has brought both social and economic benefits to local communities through investment, job opportunities, partnerships and training. We also believe in the power of partnerships, working closely with governments and other stakeholders to drive growth and development.

Education is an African priority and as such it is the main focus of our CSI strategy. Our investment is primarily, but not exclusively, activated through our flagship MultiChoice Resource Centre (MRC) initiative. The programme leverages our powerful digital satellite platform to make a difference to the lives of students and teachers across the continent.

Among our other projects, MultiChoice Africa has also made a major investment in supporting the development of open, democratic societies by recognising excellence in African journalism through the CNN MultiChoice Africa Journalist of the Year Awards, and more recently with the implementation of the DStv EutelSat Star Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Through the M-Net and SuperSport channels, over $100 million has been poured into local film and production industries, making them the lead investors in creating quality local content and developing talent in Africa.

While our approach to CSI provides an overall framework, at the same time it gives each country the flexibility to implement programmes that best meet their local needs. Platforms are also in place to enable employees to make contributions towards causes that they are most passionate about.

Our investment in Africa is for the long term and we have a keen desire to ensure that the projects we nurture have a sustainable impact.

Here are some of the projects we are proud to be working on:
