If you are not already renting movies on BoxOffice, you better start now because June is loaded with blockbusters that will keep you glued to your screens and probably on the edge of your seats. Remember, you can access BoxOffice if you are a Premium or Compact subscriber with your DStv Explora.

These are the hot movies that will be available for rent on BoxOffice in June:

1. Jupiter Ascending

Earth is once again under threat from aliens and it is the destiny of one girl, Jupiter (Miller Kunis), to stop this ultimate destruction with the help of Caine Wise (Channing Tatum). Jupiter Ascending is available for rent from 1 June.

2. American Sniper

Labeled as the deadliest marksman in the US military, Chris Kyle saves countless lives in the battlefield but adjusting to life at home after the war proves to be a tough battle to win. With a little help from a psychiatrist, Kyle works with wounded veterans to help him adjust to the life at home. This movie stars Bradley Cooper as Kyle and Sienna Miller as Taya Renae Kyle. American Sniper is available for rent from 5 June.

 

 

3. Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey focuses on the kinky relationship between timid college student Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and handsome billionaire boy Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) who has an adventurous, over the top sexual preference. Fifty Shades of Grey is available for rent from 8 June.

 

 

4. Whiplash

Miles Teller and J.K Simmons impress in this Academy Award-nominated movie about dreams and pushing your talents beyond limits just so that you can gain recognition from one person who’s unwilling to give it. Jazz student Andrew Neiman (Teller) struggles to impress his abusive but legendary instructor Terrence Fletcher (Simmons) even beyond breaking point. Whiplash is available for rent from 15 June.

5. Selma

Academy Award-nominated Selma narrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s contribution to the passage of the Voting Rights Act in the 1960s. King and his friends start an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, a relentless campaign that pushes the government to permit equal voting rights. The film stars David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King. Selma is available for rent from 15 June.

 

 

6. Kingsman: The Secret Service

When a sociopathic tech genius, Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), becomes a global threat, a spy agency led by Harry Hart (Colin Firth) recruits a young man, Eggsy Unwin (Taron Egerton), into their rigorous training program. This is a must-watch for anyone who loves espionage movies. This movie is available for rent from 15 June.

7. Focus

Focus is reminiscent of Ocean 11 as gentleman thief Nicky Spurgeon (Will Smith) takes a rookie con Jess Barret (Margot Robbie) under his wing to train her on the rules of professional thievery. Flanked by an equally experienced gang, these two make a lot of money just by pick-pocketing. Focus is available for rent from 29 June.
