(drum roll) yeah it is time for the annual MTV Movie Awards, which will be held at the Nokia Theatre stage in Los Angeles, California. Catch the live premiere on Monday 13 April from 02:00 on MTV, DStv Channcel 130.

Once the kerfuffle has passed on the red carpet, your host for the night is none other than the cheeky unapologetic comedian, Amy Schumer. Catch Amy, her shenanigans and guest appearances by Vin Diesel, Reese Witherspoon,  Sofia Vergara, Miles Teller, Rebel Wilson and more, rewarding the luckily recipients of each category with a Golden Popcorn award.

The unique categories, positions the MTV Movie Awards in a league of its own. We look forward to the acceptance speeches and celebratory high fives for the winners of:

Our predictions will be accordingly:

  • Best Scared-As-S**t Performance –  a change of clean underwear goes to Rosamund Pike for her performance in Gone Girl, who knows what she is thinking but we were all scared.
  • Best Shirtless Performance - Channing Tatum for his pectoral definition in Foxcatcher.
  • Best Fight – The ‘tanning’ fight scene is a classic, Edward Norton vs. Michael Keaton deserves this one for their performance in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
  • Best Kiss – These guys are professionals in canoodling, James Franco & Seth Rogen in The Interview.
  • Best WTF Moment – will go to Johan Hill for his squid fighting performance in 22 Jump Street, the things he does and do can only be explained by paranormal activity.

This year MTV is honouring, Shailene Woodley with the MTV Trailblazer Award, an award that is given to the younglings of the entertainment industry for their reputation and being an inspiration to others; Robert Downey Jr. will receive the Generation Award for his incredible contribution to the film industry and comedian Kevin Hart walks away with the well-deserved honourable Comedic Genius Award.
