One of the big screen's timeless heroes is celebrating a milestone birthday this week. On Thursday 19 March Bruce Willis is turning 60!
Not all of us will be able to get a piece of his special birthday cake, but we can still pop the champagne and tune into M-Net Movies Action +, channel 106 on DStv. The channel will have its own Bruce bash with three of his blockbuster movies, back to back.
The action kicks off at 18:30 CAT with the high-octane Bruce Willis film Red in which retired CIA agents dust off their skills to track down a group of assailants. Thereafter, at 20:00 CAT, it's Bruce at his absolute fearless best as detective John McClane in Die Hard 4 (aka Live Free or Die Hard), the biggest hit in the Die Hard film franchise.
Here, America is at the mercy of cyber terrorists who want to destroy the economy by cutting off the financial hub’s contact with the rest of the world.
They go on a crazed killing spree to wipe out anyone who stands in their way. The scene where McClane downs a low-flying assault helicopter by launching a police car into it has already earned a place in action movie folklore.
Then, at 22:10 CAT, Bruce's fans can enjoy the mind-bending sci-fi action film Looper about deadly time travelling. So if you love Bruce, be sure to celebrate his big day on M-Net Movies Action +.
