Everyone starts out somewhere, and some of the world’s biggest celebrities made their start on reality shows.
We all know the Kardashian’s rise to fame is their reality show, which you can watch on Sundays at 21:00 on E!
But did you know songbird Fantasia’s big break came from a reality show?
After winning the reality music competition show American Idol, Fantasia blessed us with great music, like I Believe, When I See U and Lose to Win. She even ventured into acting, starring in The Color Purple on Broadway and her own reality show, Fantasia for Real.
Here are some of our favourite celebrities who had their big break on reality shows.
Jennifer Hudson’s first taste of the spotlight was as a Top 10 contestant on American Idol, before winning an Academy Award for her supporting role in Dreamgirls.
NeNe Leakes and her famous one-liners started on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and now, one of our favourite NeNe appearances is as a commentator on Fashion Police on E!
Before Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé was part of another girl group, Girls Tyme. They performed on Star Search, which is also where Justin Timberlake, Usher, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears first impressed with their music skills.
Before she sang Don’t Cha with the Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger auditioned to be part of the winning group on the music show Popstars.
They may be the world’s biggest boy band, but seven years ago, the guys of One Direction didn’t know each other. They all met during filming of The X-Factor, where they were hoping to make it big as solo pop stars, before Simon Cowell decided they should be a boy band. Thank you Simon!
We may have fallen inlove with Bill Rancic as the husband of Fashion Police host, Giuliana, but he captured he heart after she interviewed him, for winning The Apprentice.
