Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America in the Hollywood blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is blasting onto your DStv screens as the #SundayNightMovie on 31 January.

Make sure to tune in to M-Net (101) at 20:05 or M-Net Movies Premiere (103) to see Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and more of Marvel’s heroes as they combine their superpowers to save the world.

Some of the street scenes for Avengers: Age of Ultron was filmed in Johannesburg, South Africa, and we can’t wait to see what this looks like on film.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Directed by George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road has been nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Zoe Kravitz. It was partly filmed in Swakopmund and the Namib Desert in Namibia.


American Sniper
Morocco is a hot spot for filming of Hollywood TV series and blockbusters. The award-winning action flicks American Sniper, Captain Phillips and Black Hawk Down all filmed in this Mediterranean country.


Beasts of No Nation
Based on a novel, Beasts of No Nation is a war film starring Idris Elba and Ghanaian actors Ama K. AbebreseGrace Nortey and Abraham Attah. The movie, filmed in the eastern region of Ghana, won at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival for Attah's performance, and Elba is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. To see if Elba wins for his performance, tune in to M-Net Movies Premiere (103) on Sunday 31 January at 03:00 for the live broadcast of The 2016 Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.


Queen of Katwe
One movie we're excited to see is the Mira Nair-directed film, Queen of Katwe. Starring Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o and David Oyelowo, Queen of Katwe was filmed in Kampala, Uganda, and tells the tale of a chess champion.


Will Smith put on an award-winning performance as Muhammad Ali in the sports film Ali. With an all-star cast, including Noni Gaye, Jamie Foxx, Jon Voight and Mario Van Peebles, Ali was filmed partly in Maputo, Mozambique, and Accra, Ghana.
