On the eve of the celebration of International Women’s Day, Magic Movies, the channels editing company part of the Côte Ouest group, is proud to announce the launch of its Novelas Channel Nina TV on leading African operator DStv, MultiChoice, on Tuesday 7 March 2017.
Nina TV is so much more than a thematic channel, it’s a whole universe designed for the African women. It’s 24/7s grid made of six different thematic slots will showcase the best of Novelas coming from Brazil to DStv customers, with first to run Novelas The Life We Lead and award-winning titles such as Precious Pearl, Blood Ties and Lado a Lado – all of it spiced up with unique fillers such as stars interviews, fashion tips, cooking shows, music videos and so much more.

Indeed, Nina TV has secured an exclusive access to the entire Globo TV Catalogue, the leader and founder of the genre, whose Telenovelas are having the greatest success for over 25 years across Africa. The six different thematic slots: Teen Novelas, African Novelas, Classic Novelas, Revenge, Action and Passion Novelas, rotate five times per day and are scheduled in an omnibus during weekend, allowing viewers to catch up on weekly episodes they might have missed.
Nina TV will be available on channel 143 and will launch as part of the rewards offered on MultiChoice’s brand new customers loyalty programme, DStv Thanks which also launches to customers today. All DStv customers will get a taste of the exciting channel from 7 until 21 March, thereafter; it will only be available to customers who have qualified for the programme.
The addition of Nina TV into the DStv package offering is the proof of its success in Africa and completes the channel’s expansion strategy in to the Anglophone regions of the continent. Indeed, one year after its official launch, Nina TV quickly established itself as THE Novela channel in Africa.
