Sauti Sol teams up with Amos and Josh in a new song that celebrates the achievement of African leaders.
The 2014 MTV EMA Best African Act winners Sauti Sol have teamed up with their mentees Amos and Josh in their brand new track Nerea.
Dressed in all white to perhaps mimic the noble intention of the song, Mudigi Savara sets the tone in the melody that is Nerea, a song urging a woman not to get rid of their unborn child.
“Don’t kill our child. Give it to me, I will raise it… Who knows? They might be the next Lupita, Wanyama, Rudisha or Mandela,” the song paraphrases.
Talking about birth, watch the story of a baby born twice on Outrageous Births, Wednesday 22 April at 20:55 CAT on TLC, channel 172.
The song Nerea has been released accompanied by the video by Enos Olik, and is the fifth single off their upcoming album Live and Die in Afrika, set for release sometime this year.
“The song is about the growth of an African man and how he takes full responsibility for his everyday actions,” reads a press statement.
All the musicians put their pen to this track, which celebrates the achievements of Africa’s great leaders in the areas of politics, environment and even entertainment.
As expected #Nerea is already trending in Kenya’s twitter circles.
