Set your PG PIN on your DStv decoder to control what your kids watch.
Kids are curious little creatures, always browsing through channels to see what can capture their restless attention. But as a parent, your kids should only watch what you approve.
Good news for you, the DStv decoder has Parental Control features to allow you to block programming based on their PG rating, thus controlling what your children can or cannot watch.
This means that you don’t have to worry about your kids bumping on to the new season of Homeland or other hot adult shows while you are away.
Blocking adult content is easy, so you don’t have to worry about any technicalities:
Just press the DStv button on your DStv Explora Remote to access Settings, then select the Parental Control option. From here, you can block shows depending on their PG ratings by entering the default PG PIN 1234.
There is also the option of changing the PG PIN to a four digit number of your choice.
Please note: If you block your PG PIN, you can always contact your call centre and ask them to reset it.
The Parental Control feature also allows you to block entire channels that offer edgier content like M-Net Edge, which features a higher-age restricted programming like Rome and vampire hit True Blood.
Once the day is done and the kids are all fast asleep, you can now unlock these shows/channels by entering your PG PIN, sit back and enjoy all your guilty pleasures.
With #DStvKids channels like Cartoon Network (301) and Disney Channel (303), there is so much content that your kids can enjoy. No need for them to start watching your shows as well.
Note: PG blocking also applies to DStv Catch Up and BoxOffice rentals.
