Lola Rae speaks

The ever radiant Lola Rae is truly a ray of sunshine when she walks into a room. The Ghanaian/ British/Nigerian songstress has been shooting to the top of the charts with her club banging hits across Africa.

Lola started off on Britain’s Got Talent with a girl group, Mystikal and they that were signed to the music mogul Simon Cowell’s Syco label. What was surprising about that experience was that she suffered terrible anxiety. “They had a staff therapist to help us in such situations, because the anxiety for me was really bad,” she confessed.

Although she enjoyed some success with the girl group, the music they made was not for her so she quit the group and came back to Africa to do music that spoke to her soul. She turned down an invitation to X-Factor UK to follow her dreams of a solo career.

Tune into X- Factor every Friday at 20:30 on M-Net East (102).
