Eddy Kenzo beats off Cassper Nyovest, Mz Vee, George the Poet, MIC Lowry and the Novelist to win BET Award

Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo has won the BET Viewer’s Choice Best NEW International Artist, beating off Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Mz Vee (Ghana), George The Poet (UK), MIC Lowry (UK) and Novelist (UK). The BET Awards 2015 will premiere across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) and BET2 (DStv channel 135) on Tuesday, 30 June at 20:10 CAT.

 

BET previously revealed that talented actors, comedic geniuses and on-screen co-stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross would be unleashing the good times as hosts of the awards, which took place on Sunday, 28 June at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA.

The BET Awards recognises artists, entertainers, and athletes across 20 categories with the nominations which are selected by BET’s Voting Academy, comprising of fans and an esteemed group of entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and the creative arts.

Fans of the Ugandan artist were so psyched up for the awards, they took to Twitter to express their optimism even before the announcement:
