Zee World is the first English-dubbed Bollywood channel in Africa. Parent company Zee Entertainment is present in 169 countries, reaching 960 million viewers globally.
Zee World is available on DStv channel 166 and available in 44 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
We are thrilled to celebrate our first birthday on Wednesday 3 February. The channel launched with four successful series, Laali, Saloni, Married Again and The Promise, and introduced an exciting new line-up of cooking shows in May 2015; with the award winning Khana Khazana followed by Snack Attack and Kiddies Treats, that added an exotic flair to dinner parties. This was followed by gripping Fear Files in July 2015.
Zee World has consistently ranked second among its competitors within the Pay General Entertainment Channels. The ratings have been phenomenally high through-out the year showing the success of the channel and the love for its content by our viewers who resonate with the Zee World brand.
Within the first year the channel has secured a split feed: Zee World South Africa available to Southern African countries and Zee World Rest of Africa across East, West and Central Africa keeping our content relevant to each of our viewers in their respective part of the continent and reaching yet another milestone. This allows us to reach different markets at the same time, giving advertisers the opportunity to market their products and reach their audience in a way that is relevant to them.
To align ourselves with extraordinary viewing, The Vow launches on Tuesday 1 March along with six captivating shows which will be announced in April, making sure that we are giving our viewers the best of entertainment.
"We are proud of what we have achieved over the past year. It gives me immense joy to see the growth and success of Zee World. We look forward to another successful extraordinary year," said Mr Harish Goyal, the CEO of Zee TV South Africa.
