The Grammy Award winning songstress is hosting the 2017 Soul Train Awards on BET.

Grammy Award winning songstress Erykah Badu is hosting the 2017 Soul Train Awards for the third time.

With her eclectic style and spirit, we know Erykah is gonna put on a great show and we can’t wait!

STREAM: 2017 Soul Train Awards on Saturday, 2 December at 20:00 on BET.

With performances from Toni Braxton, SWV, Tamar Braxton, 112, Tank and Kirk Franklin and Solange leading the race with seven nominations, we are so excited for the awards! We’re still listening to A Seat At The Table and hope Solange’s work on this phenomenal album will be recognised.

Here are a few fun facts about Erykah.

It’s been 20 years since Erykah released one of her biggest music hits of her career. In an interview Erykah admitted she made up Tyrone, while performing on stage in London. And she never thought the song would have the impact and reach its had. Who can forget when she praised Zendaya, who performed Tyrone during her epic Lip Sync Battle with Spiderman: Homecoming (now available to rent on BoxOffice*) star Tom Holland?

WATCH: Lip Sync Battle, Thursdays at 21:00 on MTV Base.

Erykah has three children, with the most unique names. Seven Sirius, Puma Sabti and Mars Merkaba.

For the past 11 years, Erykah has followed a vegan diet. This comes after a decade of being a vegetarian.

And when it comes to her red carpet style, Erykah makes sure to bring it! Her style is fresh and unique, just like the soul songbird. Here are just a few of her fashion moments at this year’s Soul Train Awards you can look forward to.
