The Lyon family, Lucious, Cookie, Jamal and Hakeem in the FOX drama series, Empire

Our week started super early on Monday morning with the Red Carpet special and the live screening of the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on MTV Base.

Our week started super early on Monday morning with the Red Carpet special and the live screening of the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on MTV Base.

Some of our favourite movies were nominated (The Fault In Our Stars, The Amazing Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and 22 Jump Street), and we got to see one of our favourite all-star casts, The Avengers, as they showed a never-before-seen clip from the upcoming movie, The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We jumped for joy as Channing Tatum won the award for Best Comedic Performance for his role in 22 Jump Street. Be sure to celebrate Channing’s 35th birthday with DStv on Sunday 26 April, and watch some of our favourite Channing movies, including Dear John (14:20 CAT on M-Net Movies Stars), Magic Mike (21:10 CAT on M-Net Movies Romance) and 22 Jump Street (20:30 CAT on M-Net Movies Premiere).

And we were a bit emotional as Shailene Woodley received the award for Best Female Performance for The Fault In Our Stars (watch it on Saturday at 14:55 CAT only on M-Net Movies Premiere), and bowed down to her work as her The Spectacular Now co-star Miles Teller bestowed upon her the Trailblazer Award.

You can see Miles in this week’s Sunday night blockbuster when That Awkward Moment comes to M-Net Movies Premiere at 20:30 CAT. And make sure you diarise 9 May and see Shailene and Miles in The Spectacular Now, at 20:30 CAT on M-Net Movies Romance.

We would have given anything to be in the room when Benedict Cumberbatch hosted the 2015 Laureus Awards. Recognising the hard work of the world’s best sporting talent, this is really one of the most prestigious ceremonies.

We are so proud of Ethiopian runner Genzebe Dibaba who won the Sportswoman of the Year Award. See the best in road running at this year's Boston Marathon on Monday 20 April at 15:35 CAT only on SuperSport 5 and in HD.

And Australian racer Daniel Ricciardo won the award for Breakthrough of the Year. See the Red Bull driver in action at this weekend’s Bahrain GP. Tune in to SuperSport 6 on Sunday 19 April at 16:30 CAT and watch all the action in HD.

We were blown away with this star power performance – HakeemJamalCookie and Lucious Lyon in Wednesday night’s episode of Empire performing You’re So Beautiful was perfect!

And when Jamal delivered his own version of his father’s song at the All White Party, he made a huge statement!

If you’ve still not caught up with the amazing world of EmpireFOX is bringing viewers a binge weekend. Tune in to FOX on Saturday 4 April, for the first four episodes, back-to-back, starting at 20:15 CAT. And on Sunday 19 April from 20:15 CAT, watch episodes five to eight, back-to-back.

It’s so great hanging out with the Simmons family on the Food Network. Rev Run and his wife Justine have welcomed us into their kitchen as they cook their favourite, and some new dishes, for family lunch on Sundays.

Tune in to DStv channel 175 on Thursdays at 20:00 CAT for Rev Run’s Sunday Suppers, and take down their amazing recipes of Veggie Tacos, Roast Pork, Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Bolognese and even Pomegranate Sangria.

Enjoy all of this great TV viewing and so much more, with your DStv Explora.
