This month, TLC Entertainment (135) brings you more intriguing OWN programming with a brand new season of Iyanla: Fix My Life. Watch as life coach and relationship expert Iyanla Vanzant sets out on a mission to help people overcome major difficulties in their lives.
In this eye-opening series, each episode focuses on a specific problem posed by the story of one guest - or group of guests. From high-profile figures to everyday people, Iyanla is on hand to bring a fresh perspective to the situation and help people turn their lives around.
We follow Iyanla as she helps NFL superstar Terrell Owens who suffers a deep personal crisis. In this episode, Terrell shows us how fame and money do not always mean happiness. In fact, despite massive talent and success as a professional athlete, Terrell’s soul has never been at peace. Born by a 17-year-old mother, he feels as though he was never loved, had a tough childhood and was too scared to ask for help. While people always thought Terrell looked happy as a record-breaking receiver in the NFL, he has always been empty inside. On a mission to help him rebuild his life, Iyanla meets him where it all started - his grandmother's home in Alexander City, Alabama.
Then, Iyanla heads to Chicago to work with Shannon, a 28-year-old crystal meth addict whose life hangs in the balance. Shannon's drug abuse has led to three overdoses and threatens his life unless he can accept the gravity of the situation and get help. In this episode, Iyanla works with Shannon's mother, father and sister, who are concerned about him but, in many ways, have enabled his downward spiral by supporting him financially while he was hitting rock bottom. But before Shannon can get back on track, Iyanla must get him to come clean about the full extent of his addiction. Only after this happens can the mistrust and lies stop to allow the healing to begin.
Also featured this season is a woman in an abusive marriage. Watch as Iyanla travels to Dallas where she meets this struggling woman and confronts her abusive husband. By teaching people how to pull back the curtain on what is broken in their lives, can she help them overcome their issues? Don’t miss Iyanla: Fix My Life starting from Sunday 16 October at 20:00 to find out.
